Kevin Zi-Xiao He is a Chinese-born composer who immigrated to Canada in his mid-teen years. He’s musical output originates from a Chinese cultural background and embodies his interests in a variety of musical genres, including popular and traditional music of East Asia. Zi-Xiao He has studied with renowned figures such as Gary Kulesha, Ken Ueno, Alexander Rapoport, Larysa Kuzmenko, and Andrew List. His works have been showcased in international new music festivals in Asia and Europe. In July 2015, He received the "Composition Award" in the Zodiac Music Academy and Festival in France. His recent international performances include the world premiere in the Kandinsky Project with the Meraki Chamber Players in New York City. In his based city Toronto, He's works have been performed by the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Chinese Artists Society of Toronto (CAST). Holding an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree with double-majoring in music and architectural design, as well a Maters's degree in composition, He is a current doctoral candidate in composition in the studio of Dr. Christos Hatzis, at the University of Toronto.
